Cypress, in addition to having typical mulch characteristics, will last considerably longer than pine or hardwood and has a tendency to deter insects and unwanted pests. Red or Black Dyed Cypress are available as a decorative ground cover that will not fade as quickly in the sun.

Red Oak (Double Ground) is a quality hardwood mulch that both retains it's color and breaks down slower due to it's composition.
